Bear CubA Bear Cub is the second rank in Cub Scouts! Children in Third grade or who are 8 years old can participate! Boys continue to wear an official blue Cub Scout shirt. They now wear a blue Bear scarf and Bear neck clasp! The boys now have two patches on the breast pocket of their uniform - the Bobcat badge and the Wolf badge!
Meetings are held twicw a month and are focused on earning achievement awards and having fun! These achievements can include family oriented activities such as bike riding and bike safety, hiking and nature awareness or visiting a museum or local business. However, Bear Cub achievements involve more interactions with the world around them, practicing good citizenship and working on being more independent and responsible scouts.
The Bear Cubs earn awards for their achievements in the form of beads, patches, pins and belt loops which are worn on their uniform. They can display their progress bead on a badge shown above- the Progress Toward Rank badge. The ultimate goal is to earn their Bear Badge which is shown above and to prepare for the next step in Scouting... Webelo Scouts!
Bear Cubs also participate in Pack activities such as the monthly Pack meeting, camp outs, the Pine Wood Derby and more!
